Five Juried Exhibitions
The committee organized and sponsored five juried and invitational exhibitions featuring New Mexico women artists. More than 500 emerging and established artists gained exposure at New Mexico museums. In turn many artists received requests for representation in local galleries . Exhibiting the work of women artists today, is less a gesture of art activism or political protest than it is a celebration of women’s creativity.

This pilot program resulted in the NMWA receiving a federal grant to continue the program in selected, low income, Albuquerque, and Northern Virginia schools.
