Architecture is behind in equality but these women are breaking through the glass ceiling
Women make up almost half of the students in school for architecture, but only 18% of licensed architects are women. It's a statistic that needs to change. This article looks at 16 women who are fighting the gender discrimination and breaking new ground in the field. Combining art and science, they are paving the way for others to follow.

The list includes women from around the world who are building structures in just as many countries across the globe. From homes built into the mountainside, or created from mirrors to appear as though it's part of the forest, to art galleries and high rises, these women are leading the way in new ways of creating buildings.
